We have made a big decision to move our family Sabre 27 from Fareham Engineering yard after 30+ years to be based at Royal Clarence in Gosport. We actually made the move on a freezing day last November, but this weekend had a superb weekend staying on the boat. We made the decision to move to be closer to the harbour mouth at Portsmouth, saving us an hour of sailing down the river and juggling tides. Whilst we will miss the charms of the rickety pontoons and Fareham, the new marina has much better facilities, drinking holes and views of Portsmouth including the Spinnaker tower. We are also interested to see if our sacrificial anode lasts longer in this marina, as it was disappearing increasingly quickly in Fareham.
The family celebrated this weekend in style with fabulous weather at the local pub and quayside, watching the sun cast shadows across the harbour and masts.
